Tasting Notes
Clear and elegantly bitter like a dry white wine, this Gyokuro is classic in style yet unmistakably distinct from the typical character of its Kirishima terroir. The green teas of this region are known for their gentle bitterness and pronounced vegetal notes, often carrying a depth reminiscent of a robust broth. The Gyokuro Kirishima Tokusen, however, achieves a clear, soft infusion with a mild bitterness that preserves these characteristic vegetal nuances while still delivering a savoury umami. This umami reveals itself with a particularly clean, precisely defined body, which does not expand across the whole palate, but rather, delights with a focused clarity at the centre of the tongue.
