Green Tea Extract

The green tea leaves for our green tea extract come from a cooperative of tea farmers from remote regions of the Chinese provinces of Fujiang, Guangxi and Yunnan, some of whom have over 20 years of experience in growing green tea. The tea grows there in remote mountainous regions, as the climate is optimal for the tea plants. The tea leaves are harvested only once a year in spring, as the content of valuable catechins is particularly high at this time. About 500–900 tonnes of green tea leaves are needed for a single extraction process.

Our concentrated and decaffeinated green tea extract is made from 100% green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis var. sinensis) by pure water extraction. We have selected only the best green tea leaves for the production of the extract, which are also 100% pesticide-free. Otherwise, extracts could have considerable residues of plant protection products. Water extraction is the most elaborate extraction method for obtaining green tea extracts. No toxic solvents are used, so our green tea extract is completely free of harmful residues. The water used for extraction is not reused for another extraction. This results in an extremely pure extract with 99.8% polyphenols, 70.7% catechins and 46.8% EGCG, which roughly corresponds to the composition of a green tea infusion. Our goal was to represent the tea polyphenols as naturally as possible in a highly concentrated extract.

Each tablet additionally contains 5mg quercetin. We use a completely plant-based extract from the blossoms of the Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica) with a quercetin content of at least 95%, thus completely avoiding synthetic quercetin, which has a low bioavailability. Our pure water extraction process avoids the use of harmful chemical extraction agents and solvents.

Each tablet also contains 30mg vitamin C as the special active ingredient PureWay-C®, a unique, synergistically effective combination of vitamin C that achieves significantly higher absorption than conventional vitamin C preparations due to the special coating with plant-derived fatty acids and a citrus bioflavonoid complex. The coating allows the vitamin C to be better absorbed into the blood and cells and has a long-lasting retention time. It also offers good stomach tolerance. The coating is also responsible for its high storage stability and good protection against oxidation.

The only other ingredient we use to press the tablets is gum arabic (Gummi arabicum) as a natural filler. Unlike the usual synthetic filler microcrystalline cellulose, which is mixed with nanoparticles, we use a natural foodstuff as a filler.

We package this product in amber glass jars instead of plastic to protect the ingredients from light.
