The producer of our French lavender essential oil is a small, nature-loving, young, family-owned business based in Portugal. The company specialises in wildcrafting and the collection of damaged wood from the native plants. The producers use a very gentle distillation method with low water pressure, which leads to the extraction of almost all the valuable plant substances. All of the producer's oils are EU certified organic.
French lavender
French lavender originates from the Mediterranean region. The plant belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and grows compactly and bush-like with greenish or grey-blue leaves. In midsummer its purple flowers begin to bloom. The shape as well as scent of lavender is dependent on the elevation at which it grows.
Character
The intensely spicy aromas, reminiscent of camphor, have a strong clarifying to opening effect and are well suited for preparing for meditation. At the same time, the typical lavender-like nuances convey an atmosphere of calm and balance.
