These wild frankincense trees thrive in their native Kenya, in eastern Africa, under extreme climatic conditions. The tropical, desert-like climate, with massive heat and drought, allows the valuable ingredients and aromas in the resin, such as alpha-pinene and alpha-thujene. The special resin is carefully harvested by hand from the uncut bark by experienced employees and processed in a local distillery.

Finest Origin - Highest Grade
Farm
We source this essential oil from a micro-enterprise in Kenya, which was founded around 1997. The Kenyan founders have long been involved in the research of myrrh and frankincense, as well as the production of essential oils and natural cosmetics containing African plants. It is very important to them that the trained collectors of the valuable raw materials handle the plants sustainably and with care. The resin is harvested by hand from wild trees, without cutting the bark, and processed into essential oil in a stainless steel tank using steam in the small local distillery. The fine aromas of the essential oils are a reflection of the experience and the passion of our producers. The raw materials come from wild collection and are partly certified according to the EU organic standard.
Frankincense
These wild incense trees belong to the balsam family (Buseraceae) and are originally found in the eastern semi-desert areas of Africa, such as Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya. This tree of the species Boswellia neglecta can grow 5 to 8 metres high, it forms a thick trunk to store water and nutrients, and small dark green leaves. The flowers are white to green in colour. The special feature of this type of frankincense is that its resin comes out of the bark without being cut. This black incense is also called dakara by the locals.
Aroma
The black incense is able to bring light into the darkness. The intense fragrance creates a protective, trusting but also transforming atmosphere.
