How are we different?

Our high-quality fermented turmeric is derived from pure curcuma powder. Through a carefully controlled, traditional lactic acid fermentation of Lactobacillus plantarum, the ingredient’s stability is supported and the naturally occurring bioactive metabolites become more accessible. This results in a turmeric powder with consistent quality and a standardised content of at least 1.2% curcumin and 2.0% curcuminoids as well as 1.5 billion cells (equivalent to 3 CFU per gram of Lactobacillus plantarum).

We use special HPMC capsules as capsule shells, which, unlike most other HPMC or pullulan capsules on the market, are manufactured 100% without the non-declared additives carrageenan and PEG. We use light-protected and environmentally friendly amber glass instead of plastic for packaging.

Turmeric

Turmeric (Curcuma longa), also called curcuma, is a plant from the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). The botanical name is derived from the Arabic word "al-krukum", which means "saffron" and refers to the colour and staining properties of the turmeric plant. Its dye has approximately the same hue as saffron, but the plants are not botanically related. The turmeric plant originates from China and India, where it has been cultivated and used for food and medicinal purposes for at least 5000 years, and is even mentioned in the Vedas, the holy scriptures of Hinduism. The turmeric plant also plays an important role in Ayurvedic nutrition; for example, the powder is an essential ingredient of curry powder and is found in almost every dish. Yellow dye derived from the plant's rhizome is also used to dye a variety of materials including paper, textiles and ointments.

Turmeric is one of the best researched plants due to its wealth of valuable phytonutrients. Best known of these are the curcuminoids, but the turmeric root also offers other valuable compounds, such as turmerosaccharides and essential oils.

Take 1 capsule with 200ml water daily.

Contraindications

This product is not suitable for those pregnant or breastfeeding or children under the age of 18. Consult your physician before use in case of liver disease, gall bladder or concomitant use of medication such as anticoagulants, anticancer drugs or immunosuppressants.
