Completely plant-based fava bean (Vicia faba) extract with at least 5% natural L-dopa.
The fava bean is an ideal natural source of L-dopa, as it inherently contains high levels of this non-proteinogenic amino acid. In the human body, L-dopa is synthesised from the amino acid tyrosine via several steps. L-dopa can cross the blood-brain barrier and serves as the direct precursor to the neurotransmitter dopamine.
We use a highly concentrated 30:1 fava bean (Vicia faba) extract, precisely standardised to at least 5% natural L-dopa. The extract is obtained from ripe, hand-harvested beans using only pure water and food-grade ethanol. Following extraction, the product is gently spray-dried to ensure the best possible preservation of its valuable phytochemicals.
For the capsule shells, we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC or pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG.
