Finest Origin - Highest Grade

This wild English lavender flourishes at 1800m above sea level in the French Maritime Alps of Alpes-Maritimes, Provence, an area known for the ideal growing conditions it provides for lavender. The region's clear mountain air, mineral-rich soils and unique climatic conditions, including its very cold nights, hot days and Mediterranean winds, all contribute to the growth of the healthy and aromatic lavender the region harbours. During the harvest months of July and August, the workers at this small family business hand cut the lavender with sickles. The freshly cut lavender is collected in linen cloths and brought directly to the distillery, where it is gently processed into a highly pure and aromatic essential oil.

Farm

This small family business in southern France has produced its own essential oils and other natural products since 1997. Each year, they produce a small quantity of high-quality products from wildcrafted plants growing between 1200–1800m above sea level in the department of Alpes-Maritimes. Their assortment of natural products are all certified organic in France according to the EcoCert Agriculture Biologique and Nature et Progrès.

The business and its employees have prioritised sustainability and gentle, conscientious processing for decades. Indeed, the especially high quality of the oils speaks for their passion and depth of expertise.

This lavender essential oil is produced via steam distillation using a small stainless steel tank. The water used for this process is sourced directly from the nearby mountain springs. Low water pressure and consequently long distillation times ensure a near-complete retention of the lavender's valuable ingredients.

Lavender

English lavender belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and originates from the Mediterranean region, with perhaps the most famous variety thriving in the department of Alpes-de-Haute Provence in southern France. The plant grows fairly compactly and bush-like. Its leaves are grey-green and its pale to dark purple flowers bloom on 8cm long spikes. The shape as well as scent of lavender is dependent on the location and elevation at which it grows.

Aroma

The balanced bouquet of intense lavender aromas opens the mind and brings body and spirit into harmony.
