How are we different?
Our cocoa bean extract is obtained from Indian cocoa beans (Theobroma cacao) by means of pure ethanol extraction (food grade) in a ratio of 62:1. The cocoa beans used come from mixed cultivation in India, where the trees are cultivated together with betel nut and coconut palms. During the extraction process and subsequent gentle spray drying, the extract is standardised to a polyphenol content of at least 50%. No additional extraction agents or carriers are required for this.
We use special HPMC capsules as capsule shells which, unlike most other HPMC or pullulan capsules on the market, are produced 100% without the undeclared excipients carrageenan and PEG. We use light-protected and environmentally friendly amber glass instead of plastic for the packaging.

The history of cocoa dates back to the 14th century. For the Aztecs, cocoa was considered sacred and was revered as a gift from God. They used cocoa beans not only as an offering and a means of payment, but also to make a bitter, spicy drink called xocóatl, from which the word "chocolate" originated. The Spanish conquistadors quickly realized that this "brown gold" was of particular value and the cocoa drink spread around the world. The botanist Carl von Linné eventually named the cocoa plant Theobroma - the food of the gods.
