How are we different?
Our multi-nutrient complex contains premium ashwagandha extract as the original KSM-66® from India, which includes all the phytochemicals of the root in their natural ratio. The extract is obtained exclusively from the roots and contains no leaves of the plant. The leaves of the ashwagandha plant contain other ingredients, such as withaferin A, which is not present in our pure root extract. The KSM-66® extract provides the highest naturally achievable withanolide content of 5% from a pure root extract. It delivers the full spectrum of withanolides from the root in their natural ratio. The extraction of the KSM-66® extract is carried out completely without ethanol and other solvents, as is common with many extracts. For us, the production also omits the usual milk pre-treatment of the ashwagandha roots, making the extract perfectly suitable for vegans.
The high-quality full-spectrum extract is sensibly combined with magnesium as magnesium citrate, folate as calcium L-methylfolate, and zinc as zinc bisglycinate, as well as vitamin B6 in the bioactive form pyridoxal 5'-phosphate and vitamin C coated with plant-based fatty acids plus a citrus bioflavonoid complex.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a plant from the nightshade family. The name comes from Sanskrit and roughly translates as "smell of horse," as the roots have a strong scent that is reminiscent of horses. The term "somnifera" comes from Latin and can be translated as "sleep inducing" (somnus = sleep, ferre = to bring), hence its nickname as the "sleeping berry." In this formula, the roots and leaves of the ashwagandha plant are used and not the berry, which is poisonous in large quantities due to its alkaloid content and has a very bitter taste. The roots and leaves contain withanolides, the most widely studied phytochemicals in ashwagandha. These belong to the group of steroidal lactones and are similar to steroid hormones in their chemical structure.
