How are we different?
Natural Vitamin D3
Our Sunferol® D3 Vegan is sourced from pine trees. The pine oil is sustainably obtained as a byproduct of forestry (bark, branches), meaning that pine trees do not need to be cultivated or felled specifically for vitamin D production, as the raw material originates from an existing circular system. This provides a key advantage over vegan vitamin D sourced from algae or lichen, which are grown exclusively for vitamin D production. Unlike resource-intensive algae cultivation, production from pine oil requires neither controlled bioreactors nor artificial lighting or heating systems. Our vegan vitamin D from pine oil can therefore be produced more cost-effectively and with significantly lower energy and raw material consumption.
Through a multi-stage process involving the conversion of plant precursors into bioactive vitamin D3 and intensive purification, we obtain a D3 crystallisate with a purity of over 99%. This forms the foundation for our natural, vegan premium-quality vitamin D3 products.
MCT Oil Base for Optimal Protection & Enhanced Absorption
Vitamin D3 is fat-soluble and can therefore only be absorbed when combined with fats. We rely on high-quality coconut-based MCT oil as a carrier oil because it offers optimal protection for fat-soluble vitamins, thus ensuring maximum active ingredient stability. The medium-chain fatty acids in MCT oil also constitute valuable nutrients themselves.
Simple & Precise Dosage
Our vitamin D3 liquid drops are convenient to take and are also suitable for those who have difficulty swallowing capsules or tablets. When taken orally, fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed directly through the oral mucosa and are immediately bioactive. Our liquid drops come in a light-protected amber glass bottle with a glass pipette to ensure practical dosing.
Effects
Vitamin D
Vitamin D3 naturally occurs almost exclusively in animal sources, particularly in fish, dairy products, eggs and meat. Plants, such as lichens and various fungi, contain only very small amounts of the much less effective form of vitamin D2.
Vitamin D plays a very important role in the body. It is one of the few vitamins that is not absorbed directly from food, but rather produced by skin cells from sunlight. It is not a vitamin in the traditional sense of the word, but rather a pro-hormone. In contrast to many other vitamins, vitamin D is converted into an important hormone which regulates cell functioning and bodily processes. Almost all bodily cells have special receptors for the vitamin D hormone that are dependent on sufficient supply.
Vitamin D is still being intensively researched. New mechanisms of action of this fascinating vitamin are discovered almost every year. So far, the following statements on vitamin D have been released by the EU (EFSA):

Recommendations of the German Nutrition Society (DGE)
According to the recommendations of the German Nutrition Society, adults should consume an additional 800 IU vitamin D3 per day in winter.
Note: Numerous researchers and nonprofit organisations recommend a higher daily intake in order to prevent deficiency. An intake of at least 1500–2000 IU or 3000–6000 IU is recommended by the American Endocrine Society and the Vitamin D Council (USA), respectively.
Application
Our vitamin D3 oil 1000 IU is suitable for flexible dosage and as a food supplement the whole year round. For daily consumption, we recommend combining vitamin D products with vitamin K2, as these vitamins are synergistic and best utilised by the body when taken together. Sunday Natural also offers a pure vitamin K2 oil which can be combined with this product.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. To optimise shelf-life, keep in the refrigerator.
