Wild Alpine Juniper thrives at elevations of 1900 metres and above, finding ideal growing conditions in the pristine Alpine region of South Tyrol, where alpine meadows and high plateaus nestle between rugged rock formations. Due to the mountainous location and the challenging but optimal living conditions to which it is exposed, the Alpine juniper develops particularly valuable ingredients, such as sabinene, alpha-pinene and thiopsen. In May and November, when the plant is at its most potent, the needle-covered branches are carefully chopped with a hand sickle and then gently processed with steam in our own distillery according to old traditions.

This family-run company has been producing essential oils and herbal products for over 110 years and has been certified organic since 1995. The plants used to produce the essential oils come either from the company's own organic cultivation, from Demeter-certified cultivation by a regional producer, or from the company's own controlled wild collection, which always follows the principles of sustainable forestry. With respect for nature and the knowledge of their ancestors, the fourth generation of the company carries out all work by hand, from harvesting to bottling. For example, harvesting by hand in tune with the rhythm of nature preserves the vitality of the plants. Alpine Juniper
The Alpine juniper (Juniperus communis var. nana) is a variety of common juniper (Juniperus communis), which is widespread in the northern hemisphere and, with 55 species, forms the largest genus within the cypress family (Cupressaceae). This robust, low-growing plant is unique in its composition and embodies the pure power of the mountains. It grows as a low shrub, often spreading flat on the ground, which makes it perfectly adapted to cold and wind. The densely growing, deep dark green needles are sharp-pointed, short (5–15 mm) and slightly curved. The small, round berries are actually fruit cones and take two to three years to reach full maturity. During the ripening process, they change colour from green to dark blue to black-brown – all visible on the same shrub at the same time. As an aromatic plant, juniper was valued in ancient Greece, Europe and North America as incense for ceremonial purposes and was widely used in traditional medicine in Europe and China.
