How are we different?

D-pantethine provides the body with the bioactive coenzyme form of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) in a high-dose and directly usable form. Unlike conventional pantothenic acid, D-pantethine is a stable disulfide compound is a precursor for the synthesis of coenzyme A. This special chemical structure bypasses enzymatic conversion steps, making the active ingredient bioavailable for complex metabolic processes (e.g., energy and lipid metabolism).

The purity and safety of our vitamin B5 active ingredient are extremely important, which is why they are guaranteed by a comprehensive quality management system. To optimise the physical properties and stability, we have opted for a synergistic matrix: the active ingredient is embedded in 33% natural bamboo extract and 17% plant-based microcrystalline cellulose; the bamboo extract serves as a plant-based flow agent and a high-quality alternative to synthetic anti-caking agents, while the cellulose ensures the necessary stability of the mixture.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.

Coenzyme A

Coenzyme A is an essential cofactor that is present in every cell of the human body. It forms the biochemical bridge between nutrients from food and their utilisation in the body. Its main physiological task is the uptake and transfer of acetyl groups (as acetyl coenzyme A). This cofactor contributes to 2 fundamental functions:

Energy production: It carries the catabolised components of fats and carbohydrates into the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle), making it essential for cellular respiration and the formation of ATP (energy).

Biosynthesis: It is an essential substrate that is necessary for the body to produce fatty acids, cholesterol, steroid hormones and the important neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Daily Requirements

The daily requirement of vitamin B5 for an adult is 6mg.

Although a deficiency is rare, a latent undersupply of vitamin B5 can occur as the vitamin is very sensitive to heat and is largely broken down through cooking.
