How are we different?

For our valerian root extract, we use only the hand-harvested roots of plants at least 2 years old. The plants are grown using water-saving cultivation in valerian's natural habitat: the temperate zones of the Himalayas at elevations between 1000–3000m. After harvesting, the finely cut root pieces are extracted using only pure water and food-grade ethanol, and the resulting extract is gently spray-dried.

The only other ingredient we use is nanoparticle-free cellulose from renewable raw materials. This distinguishes our formula from conventional tablets, which often contain synthetic microcrystalline cellulose fillers that may be contaminated with nanoparticles. We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product instead of plastic.

Effects

Valerian is a genus in the honeysuckle family, which contains upwards of 300 species. All species of valerian contain alkaloids and, most importantly, essential oils (monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes) that are responsible for the characteristic odour of the leaves, flowers and roots. Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) has long been traditionally used in folk medicine and was highly valued by Paracelsus.

Dosage

Directions

Take 1–2 tablets daily as needed with 200ml water 30–60 minutes before going to sleep.

Contraindications

Not suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
