How are we different?

Our highly concentrated Sunvita® Organic Oxymel Fennel Aniseed Caraway is based on a combination of organic apple cider vinegar and organic honey, refined with gently extracted botanicals. We combine centuries-old knowledge of monastic medicine with modern quality standards to offer a pure, alcohol-free alternative to conventional herbal tinctures, which unfolds its full effect with just 10 drops daily.

Our oxymels are produced using an exceptionally gentle maceration process. During cold extraction, the apple cider vinegar and honey extract a wide range of valuable nutrients from the fennel, dandelion, peppermint, aniseed, caraway and lion's mane over a long period of time. In contrast to many conventional extracts that use alcohol as a solvent, our alcohol-free approach preserves the sensitive plant essences in a matrix of ~55% organic honey and ~43% organic apple cider vinegar, the latter of which provides acetic acid bacteria and antioxidants. The addition of the adaptogenic functional mushroom lion's mane gives the formula a unique functional depth.

We only use raw materials from strictly organic beekeeping and certified organic cultivation. To guarantee microbiological integrity and a shelf life of 2 years without artificial additives, our Sunvita® Organic Oxymel undergoes a controlled heating process. The recipe is gently tempered only as much as necessary to preserve the synergy of honey, apple cider vinegar and herbal extracts in their purest forms.

This controlled preservation ensures that the phytochemicals remain stable, avoiding undesirable fermentation processes. Simultaneously, the active ingredient matrix of oils and extracts is homogeneously bound. The result is an absolutely pure elixir with the highest concentration of active ingredients, completely free from artificial additives.

We use environmentally friendly amber glass for the packaging of this product.

Oxymels

The use of oxymels is based on thousands of years of traditional knowledge – even Hippocrates (c. 400 BC) utilised the synergy of fermented fruit vinegar and raw honey in ancient times. Vinegar served to extract minerals and alkaloids from tough roots and bark, while honey acted as a natural cofactor to soften the acidic irritation and preserve the formula. For over 2 millennia, oxymels remained a staple in every monastic pharmacy, until industrialisation and the popularity of alcohol-based tinctures shifted focus. Today, this traditional herbalism is experiencing a revival, rediscovered through the lens of modern molecular biology.

Production

Our oxymels are produced with a gentle, weeks-long cold extraction process (maceration). Unlike alcohol-based tinctures, our Sunvita® Oxymel utilises a combination of acid (vinegar) and sugars/enzymes (honey) to gently extract nutrients and phytochemicals, serving as a highly potent, alcohol-free alternative to standard extracts. The organic acids in the apple cider vinegar and the enzymatic activity of the honey function as a synergistic solvent.

To guarantee microbiological integrity and a 2-year shelf life without the use of artificial additives, our Sunvita® Oxymel undergoes controlled thermal processing. The formula is gently heated only as much as necessary to preserve the synergy of the honey, apple cider vinegar and botanical extracts in their purest forms. This controlled preservation ensures that the phytochemicals and functional mushrooms remain stable, avoiding undesirable fermentation processes. Directions

Take 10 drops (approx. 1.9g) 2–3 times daily, before or after a meal.

Note: The product's dark colour is the result of the long maceration period. The small specks are natural, unfiltered herbal particles.
