N-Acetyl-D-Neuraminic Acid

N-acetyl-D-neuraminic acid (also known as Neu5Ac or NANA) is the most common and physiologically relevant form of sialic acid in the human body. As a terminal monosaccharide unit, it plays a central role in the structure of the glycocalyx – a complex sugar layer surrounding every cell – and is an essential component of numerous glycoproteins and glycolipids on the surface of cell membranes. There, it contributes to the negative charge of the cell and is crucial for intercellular communication as well as the body's recognition processes.

Dosage

Directions

Take 1 capsule twice daily with 200ml water with meals.

Contraindications

Not suitable for infants or young children. Not suitable for children under 10 years of age if breast milk or other foods containing added N-acetyl-D-neuraminic acid have been consumed within a 24-hour period.

Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.
