The saro for this essential oil comes from certified organic cultivation in the Fitovinany region of Madagascar. This region, located in the south-east of the island, borders the Indian Ocean. The tropical, oceanic climate allows the endemic plants to thrive and develop their special flavours and ingredients, such as 1,8-cineole, limonene and sabinene, in a harmonious balance. The leaves are steam distilled by experienced farmers in the local distillery after harvesting to produce this freshly aromatic essential oil.

Farm
This essential oil comes from a passionate producer who owns an EcoCert-certified organic farm near the coast in south-east Madagascar, where a variety of aromatic plants are cultivated. The plants are grown in harmony with nature and, as far as possible in a tropical climate, according to the principles of biodynamic cultivation methods. The farm's distilleries are self-built and have been designed and built in the harmonious proportions of the golden ratio. Mindfulness in dealing with nature and the production process is reflected in the high-quality essential oils. In addition, the manufacturer is involved in self-initiated social projects in his region, builds and supports schools there and gives tree seedlings, which are grown on his farm, to the local population to grow for firewood.
Saro
Saro (Cinnamosma fragrans) belongs to the Canellaceae plant family and is endemic to the dry regions of Madagascar. The evergreen plant grows in the form of a shrub or small tree and produces sturdy, glossy, aromatic leaves. Small yellow inflorescences develop from the branches. In Malagasy, the plant group bears the name Mandravasarotra, abbreviated to saro, and means ‘he who overcomes difficulties’ or literally ‘he who keeps evil away’. The saro leaves are traditionally used as a decoction against flu symptoms and as a tonic.
Aroma
Citrusy and vitalising with a fresh eucalyptus-like fragrance, Saro conveys a feeling of intense relaxation with a warming invigoration. The aroma releases all tension and conveys lightness, joy and confidence.
