Finest Origin - Highest Grade

This oil rarity is obtained from salvaged wood of wind-damaged trees or aged wood. These trees are native to the subtropical rainforests of New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. In this region, Dysoxylum fraserianum is often planted along avenues and in parks and gardens due to its large, shade-providing canopy. The salvaged wood is carved from old or damaged trees, before being carefully steam distilled in the manufacturer's onsite distillery to produce this wonderfully aromatic oil. The essential oil has a blue tint due to a naturally occurring component called guaiazulene. Other key natural constituents of this unique oil include ledene, beta-caryophyllene and beta-elemene.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s they have been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, they have been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both their own production and from that of their collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of their essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Australian Rosewood

The evergreen Australian Rosewood tree (Dysoxylum fraserianum) is native to the subtropical rainforests of Queensland and New South Wales. The tree typically reaches a height of about 30 metres, but under favourable conditions, it can grow as tall as 60 metres. Since the 1970s, this adaptable and shade-providing tree has been commonly found in parks, avenues and gardens across Australia. Its light brown bark has a rose-like aroma from which the name "rosewood" is derived. The leaves are dark green and glossy, measuring 12 to 25 centimetres in length. During its flowering period between April and August, the tree produces small cream-coloured flowers, which develop into creamy-white to pinkish fruits. The aromatic wood of the tree is highly sought after for interior design and furniture carpentry.

Aroma

The earthy, woody scent imparts a sense of balance and harmony. The aroma has the ability to calm thoughts and establish an energetic connection between the mind and heart, inspiring joy and creativity. An excellent oil to accompany meditation, tai chi or yoga.
