Finest Origin - Highest Grade

This variety of myrtle (Leptospermum petersonii Variety B) is sustainably cultivated in its endemic habitat in the subtropical northern region of the Australian state of New South Wales. This aromatic plant, specifically grown for the production of its citrus-rose-like essential oil, was propagated by our producer on their farm. The cultivation process avoids the use of pesticides and relies exclusively on organic fertilisers. Plant material generated during the distillation process is recycled as fertiliser. The subtropical climate in the picturesque hinterland of Byron Bay provides ideal conditions for the development of natural aromas, such as geranyl acetate, geraniol and neral in the plant. Fresh leaves and young branches are hand-collected during the autumn months and directly distilled in the on-site distillery to produce this highly aromatic essential oil.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s he has been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, he has been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both his own production and from that of his collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of his essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Rose Myrtle

This evergreen myrtle variety, rose myrtle (Leptospermum petersonii Variety B), belongs to the myrtaceae family. This subspecies, also known as lemon-scented teatree, was discovered and specifically propagated by our producer for its distinct aroma, and it has been sustainably cultivated on their farm since 2014. The shrub can reach a height of up to 5 metres with long, narrow and highly aromatic leaves. During the flowering season, between December and January, numerous individual white flowers with a diameter of about 10–15mm appear.

Aroma

The citrus-fresh, rosy fragrance invigorates and refreshes body and mind. The aroma gives a feeling of harmony and balance.
