Darauf haben wir geachtet
Natural fish oil is the gold standard among omega-3 oils. With its EPA-focused effect profile, fish oil is ideal for general prevention and supporting heart health.
Our premium omega-3 fish oil features the natural fatty acid profile of small pelagic fish sourced 100% from wild catches in the high-yield fishing areas of the southeast Pacific and mid-east Atlantic. These strictly controlled fishing areas offer marine life ideal living conditions, resulting in a naturally high omega-3 fatty acid content. This allows our product to achieve a naturally high omega-3 content of around 36% without any concentration methods. Unlike many conventional fish oil supplements, which are present as chemically converted ethyl ester concentrates, the omega-3 fatty acids remain in their natural triglyceride form, enabling the body to absorb and utilise them much more efficiently.
Our fish oil achieves its exceptional purity and quality through customised processing by a traditional Icelandic company. Gentle processing adapted to the raw material preserves the oil's natural matrix while thoroughly removing potential marine pollutants, such as heavy metals and environmental toxins, in a multi-stage process. A special 3-stage active purification process results in a product of the highest purity; even high-quality fish oils typically undergo only a 2-stage purification process. This is also reflected in the exceptionally low TOTOX values of our raw material, reaching maximum values of 8 to 12.
This superior raw material quality means we can largely avoid artificial additives and stabilisers. To protect the sensitive fatty acids, the only other added ingredient is a small amount of natural mixed plant-based tocopherols (vitamin E).
While we naturally use completely vegan capsule shells for our plant-based products, we have consciously chosen high-quality gelatin softgels for our omega-3 fish oil to provide optimal protection for the sensitive active ingredients. These capsules are based on pure bovine gelatin dissolved with water, with pure glycerol as a humectant. Our softgels are expressly manufactured without hidden additives such as PEG and carrageenan, colorants or preservatives. We use light-protective amber glass packaging instead of plastic.
Wirkung
Omega-3 fatty acids are a special category of polyunsaturated fatty acids. They form an integral part of bodily cell membranes and are a precursor of important tissue hormones. Eicosanoid tissue hormones formed from omega-3 fatty acids influence several important bodily functions including brain and heart function. Natural fish oil is the gold standard for an EPA-rich profile.
The biologically active omega-3 fatty acids are docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). The EFSA has so far approved the following statements:
DHA & EPA
- Contribute to the maintenance of normal cardiac function
DHA
- Contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function
- Contributes to the maintenance of normal vision
Numerous other effects are currently under intensive research.
Dosierung
Directions
Take 2 softgels twice daily with 200ml water with a meal.
Daily Requirements
The EFSA recommends a minimum daily intake of 250mg DHA and/or EPA omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and considers a daily intake of up to 5g to be within safe limits.
Food Supplement
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep refrigerated after opening.

TOTOX Value
Omega-3 oils are only as good as they are fresh: omega-3 fatty acids are naturally reactive and prone to oxidation processes, leading to rancidity. Oxidised omega-3 fatty acids produce primary fatty acid peroxides, which further degrade into secondary oxidation products, such as aldehydes (e.g., malondialdehyde and 4-hydroxyhexenal). Assessing oxidative by-products is therefore vital to guarantee the quality of omega-3 supplements.
To gauge omega-3 oil oxidation, three key values are employed: the peroxide value (PV), p-anisidine value and the TOTOX value, the latter of which is calculated from anisidine and peroxide values (TOTOX value = p-anisidine value + (2 * PV)).
The TOTOX value (TOTal OXidation) is an internationally recognised indicator which assesses overall oxidation levels in fats and oils, serving as an important barometer of their freshness. Higher TOTOX values indicate greater rancidity. The anisidine value (AV) measures aldehyde formation during fat oxidation, revealing whether the oil was processed and stored correctly. The peroxide value (PV) quantifies the state of oxidation.
We continuously monitor our omega-3 products for anisidine and peroxide values, not only at the raw material stage – as is common on the market – but also after the oil has been filled into our softgels and bottles at the final product stage. During production, we take the greatest possible care to ensure that all contact with oxygen is minimised in order to prevent oxidation processes. We prioritise the freshness of our raw materials and proper end-product storage, minimising extended storage times.
Official bodies (IFOS, IKOS, GOED, GMBI) stipulate that the following limits must not be exceeded:
- Peroxide value (PV): maximum 5 mEq/kg
- Anisidine value (AV): maximum 20
- TOTOX value: maximum 26
A TOTOX value exceeding 26 indicates spoilage in the omega-3 oil, rendering it unfit for consumption. Conversely, a TOTOX value below 20 signifies fresh, high-quality oil. A deterioration in the taste or smell of the product suggests premature oxidation. Possible culprits include contact between the dropper and the mouth/tongue, for liquid products, or improper storage. Store your omega-3 product away from light in the refrigerator's lower section to significantly slow down oxidation processes, both before and after opening the package.
Our products have values well below the recommended limits. Please refer to our lab test results below.
