These myrrh trees of the species Commiphora myrrha and Commphora kua thrive wild in their native savannah in northern Kenya. The desert-like extreme conditions, such as temperature and drought, allow the trees to grow optimally, so that they can develop their ingredients such as curzerene, furanoeudesma-1,3-diene, lindestrene and beta-elemene in a natural ratio. The "yellow tears" or the valuable resin that emerges naturally is collected by hand from the gnarled trunks by the experienced employees, taken to the local distillery, sorted there and gently distilled with steam. In this essential oil, the resins of both species (Commiphora myrrha and Commiphora kua) are co-distilled in a mixing ratio of 75:25 and processed into this special oil. The long experience, the special manufacturing process and the passion of the distillers are visible in the authentic aroma of this myrrh oil.

Finest Origin - Highest Grade
Farm
We source this essential oil from a micro-enterprise in Kenya. Established in 1997, the Kenyan founders have long been involved in researching myrrh and frankincense as well as in the production of essential oils and natural cosmetics derived from African plants. Our producers ensure that their plants and raw materials are handled sustainably and treated with care every step along the way. The resin is harvested by hand from wild trees, without cutting the bark, and transported to a small, local distillery, where it is steam distilled in a stainless steel tank. The fine aromas of the resulting essential oil are a reflection of our producers' passion and expertise. The raw materials are wildcrafted, with some carrying EU organic certifcation.
Myrrh
The myrrh tree was already in great demand in ancient times because of its particularly fragrant resin. It belongs to the balsam tree family (Burseraceae) and originally comes from eastern Africa, such as Yemen, Ethiopia and Kenya, and can grow up to 3 meters high. The shrub or squat tree likes to thrive in poor soil and develops small leaves and thorns. Before the rainy season, fine pink to yellow flowers are formed, from which fruits develop after fertilization. Its valuable resin emerges spontaneously from the bark or is provoked by cutting into it. Myrrh resin has been used as a ceremonial incense for thousands of years and was used in ancient Egypt for embalming. The resin was already used medicinally in the Middle Ages to treat wounds and is still used there in a variety of ways today.
Aroma
The resinous-smoky aroma helps to recognise blockages and to gain access to our inner wisdom. Gives inner peace, calmness and confidence.
