Methylcobalamin is one of the 2 natural, bioactive coenzyme forms of vitamin B12. Methylcobalamin can be used directly by the body without conversion and is characterised by good bioavailability.
Methylcobalamin is the dominant form of vitamin B12 in the blood and cell plasma. Together with folate, methylcobalamin is a critical component of the methylation cycle in the cell plasma, which in turn plays an important role in several bodily processes including cell division and the synthesis of hormones and neurotransmitters. In these reactions, methylcobalamin is also needed for the breakdown of harmful homocysteine.
This coenzyme is said to have an impact on the protection of nerves as well as balanced psychological function. Methylcobalamin is also suitable for daily supplementation.
The only additional ingredient is premium gum arabic from pesticide-free cultivation, used as a natural bulking agent. In contrast to conventional synthetic fillers such as microcrystalline cellulose, which is mixed with nano-particles, we use a natural, fibre-rich foodstuff. Our gum arabic comes from climate-neutral, sustainable, resource-conserving, fair cultivation.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
