How are we different?
Our completely plant-based lutein-zeaxanthin extract comes from hand-picked petals from the African marigold (Tagetes erecta). The extraction is carried out using food-grade ethanol, which is then mixed with a small amount of high-quality sunflower oil.
Our vitamin A is in the high-quality form of retinyl palmitate, which is known for its excellent usability. As this active ingredient is particularly sensitive to environmental influences, it is protected by microencapsulation. Unlike many retinyl palmitate active ingredients, our vitamin A is 100% vegan and is not produced from animal-based raw materials.
Unlike synthetic beta-carotene or beta-carotene produced by the fermentation of mould, our beta-carotene is a 100% plant-based and natural extract from the saltwater algae Dunaliella salina with a concentration ratio of 20:1.
Our vitamin B2 is in the form of bioactive riboflavin 5'-sodium phosphate, the directly effective coenzyme form. We have opted for a premium vegan raw material that has particularly good bioavailability and a high purity of over 95%.
We use plant cellulose, modified starch and/or gum arabic as carriers for the botanical extracts. In addition, small amounts of vitamins C (sodium ascorbate) and E (α-tocopherol) are added to certain sensitive raw materials to protect them from oxidation.
The only other ingredient is premium gum arabic (Gummi arabicum, acacia fibre) from sustainable cultivation. Instead of synthetic additives, we rely on a 100% vegan and fibre-rich matrix to evenly distribute the active ingredients.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG.

Tagetes erecta, commonly known as marigold, is a flowering plant originally native to Mexico. It is frequently cultivated for its vibrant yellow and orange blossoms and plays a central role in Mexican culture.
The petals of Tagetes erecta are a natural source of carotenoids, which include lutein and zeaxanthin in particular. In the plant, these pigments play a role in light absorption and in providing protection from environmental influences caused by sunlight. Lutein and zeaxanthin also occur naturally in the macula lutea (the yellow spot) and the lens of the human eye.
Vitamin A & Provitamin A (Beta-Carotene)
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin which controls several important functions in the body. While it's well-known for its importance in maintaining good vision, vitamin A also has numerous other benefits: it contributes to the normal function of skin and mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, intestines and reproductive organs, supports the immune system and works synergistically with iron in the synthesis of red blood cells.
Beta-carotene is a secondary phytochemical in the carotenoid family. This precursor of vitamin A, or provitamin A, is the most important source of vitamin A in the diet and is involved in maintaining a healthy immune system, keeping skin and mucous membranes healthy and maintaining normal vision.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Vitamin B2 is a water-soluble vitamin which occurs in many forms: in the inactive, unbound form of riboflavin, in a protein-bonded form and in 2 bioactive coenzyme forms: flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD). Both of these latter forms are important enzyme cofactors that regulate numerous metabolic processes and play important roles in many body functions including energy prduction, growth, embryonic development and the protection of nerve cells.
