Our premium ginger lily oil (Hedychium spicatum) is derived from from wildflowers, growing at an elevation of 1000 - 1400m in the picturesque Daman mountains in central Nepal. With its fresh, humid and hot weather, the subtropical climate of this region allows the plants to develop their complex yet harmonious aromas, created by compounds such as curzerenes, camphor and various sesquiterpenes. The delicate roots are collected by hand in late summer and the essential oil is extracted via a gentle steam distillation at a local distillery. The particularly aromatic fragrance of this essential oil reflects our producers' high level of care and expertise.

Informed by their roots in traditional Indian medicine, Ayurveda, this family-run company was founded around 2010 in Nepal. The cooperating farms and farmers are regularly trained in controlled organic cultivation and new farms are recruited. The range of essential oils consists either of plants that are cultivated organically or from wild collections in the mountains of Nepal. The joy and passion of growing and harvesting indigenous aromatic plants and processing them in their own distilleries across the country can be perceived in the fine aromas of these oils. The ginger lily (Hedychium spicatum), also known as Shati or Kapoor Katcheri in Ayurveda, belongs to the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). The evergreen, perennial plant is native to the Himalayas, where it grows at elevations of 1,000 to 3,000 metres. It reaches a total growth height of 1.50 metres and bears fragrant, white and orange flowers. The essential oil of the ginger lily is used for perfumes and the plant is widely used in traditional medicine in India, China and Tibet.
