How are we different?
Our premium gentian root extract is a highly concentrated 10:1 extract from the root of the great yellow gentian (Gentiana lutea). The root of this variety of gentian is particularly rich in the highly potent bitter plant compounds gentiopicroside and amarogentin.
As it is cultivated naturally, our gentian root is completely free from the residues of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers. The extraction process uses only purified water, meaning that the active ingredient never comes into contact with chemical solvents or extracting agents. The result is a gentian extract which contains only pure gentian root extract, no additives or carriers.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

When most people think of gentian, they think of blue gentian flowers. However, we use the root of the yellow gentian. It contains many bitter glycosides, such as gentiopicroside and amarogentin and, consequently, has an extremely bitter value of at least 10,000.
