Our Flora Gummies are carefully formulated with two bacterial strains – each piece contains 1 billion colony-forming units (CFUs) Bacillus subtilis and 7.5 billion CFUs Lactobacillus plantarum (heat-treated). They are made with a base of valuable fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), derived from the natural inulin of the chicory root. FOS are characterised by their mild sweetness and are associated with a range of positive properties. Among other things, they serve as a high-quality food source for beneficial lacto- and bifidobacteria in the gut and have a relatively low glycaemic index, which is favourable for blood sugar stability. While the use of artificial sweeteners or sugar substitutes is common in the production of vitamin gummies, our gummies are made completely without artificial sweeteners and without the additional use of sugar.
For the production of appealing gummies, gelling agents that provide sufficient firmness and glazing agents that prevent the gummies from sticking together are necessary. We use purely plant-based gelling agents and completely avoid animal gelatin, which is often obtained from low-quality slaughterhouse waste. The gelling and stabilising agents we use are obtained from lemon peels (pectin), red algae (agar-agar) and the root tubers of the cassava plant (tapioca starch). As a coating agent, we use plant-based carnauba wax, so our vitamin gummies are purely vegan. For acidity regulation, cheap citric acid is often used, which is mostly obtained with the help of moulds and genetically modified microorganisms. The use of phosphate compounds such as tricalcium phosphate is also widespread. Better alternatives are ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and citrate compounds such as sodium citrate, which are used in our vitamin gummies.
Our Flora Gummies are characterised by a fruity strawberry-orange flavour. They contain no artificial flavours and are also gluten- and soya-free.
We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.
