Finest Origin - Highest Grade

This lemon eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora) grows in the warm, humid climate of north-eastern New South Wales. The sub-tropical climate of this coastal region provides the ideal growing conditions for the trees, which have been growing here in their natural state since the 1930s. The ideal growing conditions allow the harmonious development of their natural compounds, including citronellal, citronellol and isopulgeol. The leaves and young twigs are harvested by hand between July and September and gently steam-distilled at the on-site distillery.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s he has been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, he has been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both his own production and from that of his collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of his essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Lemon eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is an ancient plant from the days of Gondwana; the oldest known eucalyptus fossils, found in Patagonia, show evidence of flowers, fruits and leaves that date back 52 million years. Many primordial plant species were preserved on the Australian continent after its isolation, most notably the eucalyptus; of the approximately 900 species of Eucatyptus, about 95% are native to Australia.

The lemon-scented eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora) belongs to the Myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and is originally native to the sub-tropical coastal region in Queensland; today it is found in many regions around mainland Australia. The evergreen tree has smooth bark, with a colour spectrum from white, pink, copper, red to blue-grey. The tree reaches a growth height of up to 40 metres and bears small, creamy-white flowers between July and September that develop into woody seed pods. The long, lanceolate, glossy green leaves exude a powerful, citrusy aroma. In Australia, this pleasantly fragrant essential oil is used in insect repellents.

Aroma

The fresh, lemony fragrance acts as a mood lifter, restoring joie de vivre and optimism. The aroma invigorates body and mind, nourishes creativity and stimulates new ideas with its bright, pure energy.
