The name "cream of tartar" is derived from its production method. During the fermentation process of wine, small crystals are formed which are known "tartar."
The production of cream of tartar takes place in several steps: first, the wine is cooled to encourage the formation of crystals, causing the tartar to settle at the bottom of the container. Next, the clear wine is drawn off from the tartar deposits. Finally, the crystals are washed, dried and finely ground, resulting in a 100% genuine, pure cream of tartar powder. All ingredients are vegan, non-GMO and contain no hidden additives.
We use environmentally friendly packaging made from starch, cellulose and paper, which is 100% biodegradable (compostable).
