For our bilberry (125:1) extract, we use only the small, blue fruits of the bilberry plant (Myrtilli fructus), which is also known as the European blueberry. Following careful harvesting, the fresh fruits are processed into a highly concentrated extract using a 125:1 water-ethanol extraction process that is gentle on the bioactives. This method is the only way to standardise the anthocyanin content to a guaranteed 25%. Unlike most bilberry extracts on the market, this product is produced without solvents such as methanol and acetone, so the natural purity of the raw material is fully preserved.
Although questionable carriers such as maltodextrin are often used in the production of extracts, our bilberry extract is made without the use of carriers and additives. This allows for the preservation of the natural purity of the raw ingredients.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
