How are we different?

Our Baikal skullcap root extract contains 60% baicalein and is obtained via pure water and ethanol extraction. The roots of the plant are used due to their high concentration of phytochemicals. No further solvents such as methanol or acetone are used, thus preserving the natural purity of the roots. Most powders on the market are derived from ground Scutellaria baicalensis roots, whereas we carry a concentrated extract with standardised 60% baicalein.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Baikal Skullcap

Baikal skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis) is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the Labiates family and is mainly found in China and Siberia, where it dates back up to 2000 years. The most commonly used part of the plant is its root, which contains a high concentration of secondary phytochemicals such as the flavone baicalein.

Directions

Take 1 capsule (200mg baicalein) with 200ml water daily.
