How are we different?
Our premium mushroom blend Arthriflam Vital Organic combines the six important vital mushrooms shiitake, agaricus blazei, reishi, hericium, polyporus and auricularia and is rounded off with vitamin C. Our mushrooms come from the most renowned Chinese region for medicinal mushrooms in Gutian County, Fujian (600-700m.a.s.l.). The wealth of knowledge passed down through Chinese tradition for over 2000 years regarding the benefits and cultivation of vital mushrooms is truly exceptional. Today, Chinese cultivators produce the most potent mushrooms, having refined their cultivation methods to the point where the cultivated mushrooms rival their wild counterparts. All the mushrooms we use come from controlled organic cultivation and contain no additives, pesticides or genetically modified plant material. In addition, our partner farm prioritizes natural and traditional cultivation techniques.
All our vital mushrooms contain valuable mushroom polysaccharides, in particular beta-(1-3),(1-6)-D-glucans. To further concentrate them, the fruiting bodies of the mushrooms are processed into extracts that are standardised to contain at least 30% polysaccharides. Extraction is gently carried out using the traditional method with water heated to between 90 and 100 degrees Celsius, resulting in a pure extract that is free from any toxic residues of chemical solvents (such as acetone, N-hexane, methanol). The extracts are then dried and finely ground.
The mushrooms are combined with premium, organic vitamin C from pure, freeze-dried fruit juice powder of the whole acerola cherry, which has a naturally high vitamin C content of 30%. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation and normal cartilage function.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Agaricus
Agaricus subrufescens, whose common names include Agaricus blazei, almond mushroom and mushroom of the sun, is a species of mushroom native to the Brazilian Amazon. Due to its alleged healing properties, the mushroom is known there as “Cogumelo de Deus,” God's mushroom. Today, the majority of Agaricus subrufescens is cultivated in Asia. Scientific studies have revealed high concentrations of long-chain polysaccharides in this species, making it a promising addition to the range of edible medicinal mushrooms.
Hericium
Hericium erinaceus, also known as lion's mane, is considered a delicacy. It has been considered an important vital mushroom in Chinese and North American indigenous cultures.
Reishi
Reishi is one of the most important mushrooms in traditional Chinese herbalism. Revered as the "mushroom of immortality" or "mushroom of eternal life," it is perhaps the most important mushroom there. According to tradition and early records, reishi has been used for around 4000 years.
Shiitake
After the button mushroom, the shiitake is perhaps the most important edible mushroom in the world. Its special aroma with strong umami and its firm texture have helped it achieve culinary fame, particularly in Asian cuisine, and earned it the nickname "king of mushrooms." Shiitake grows on dead wood in the deciduous forests of Japan, China and Vietnam. It has been used in these countries as a food for thousands of years and is also considered one of the most important vital mushrooms. Its use in Chinese tradition is documented in writings dating back over 2000 years, where it has been praised as the "elixir of life."
Auricularia
Lovers of Chinese cuisine will be familiar with the Mu-Err, as this "Chinese morel" can be found in many Chinese dishes. Although the mushroom does not have a very pronounced flavor, it is nutritious and its special texture is highly valued. In Europe, its use in herbal medicine has been well-documented since the Middle Ages.
Polyporus
Polyporus umbellatus is a rare but popular edible mushroom. It prefers to grow in warmer deciduous forests, especially on the stumps or roots of oaks and beeches. The highest bioactive content is found in the underground, so-called sclerotium, a special, solid mushroom organ that ensures survival in frost or drought.
Acerola
The acerola shrub is native to Central and South America. Its fruits resemble European cherries but are not related to them. Acerola grows mainly on roadsides and along rivers, but also on dry, rocky mountain slopes at altitudes of up to 1600m. The acerola cherry is known for its exceptionally high natural vitamin C content of approximately 1700mg per 100g in the fresh fruit.
