This wild eucalyptus grows at an altitude of around 500m above sea level in central Portugal. This region has a particularly stimulating climate, ideal for the growing conditions of the eucalyptus. The seasonal temperature fluctuations of cold nights and hot dry days result in a particularly concentrated and rich development of valuable ingredients and aromas such as resins and terpenes (1.8-cineole). The twigs and leaves are carefully harvested by hand and then taken to the distillery.

Farm
The producer of our high-quality essential oil is a small, nature-loving, young family business in Portugal. The company specialises in wild collections and the collection of damaged wood from native essential oil plants. The essential oil is extracted using gentle steam distillation in a stainless steel tank. The low water pressure and therefore gentle, careful distillation results in an almost complete extraction of the valuable flavouring substances of the plants. All oils distilled there are certified with the EU organic seal.
Eucalyptus
The eucalyptus belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae). Originally from Australia, eucalyptus is now native to many tropical and subtropical regions of the world, including Mediterranean southern Europe. Eucalyptus globulus grows sprawling with smooth bark that peels off in bands. Old trees have narrow lanceolate to sickle-shaped hanging medium to deep green leaves, which grow up to 30cm long. It produces individual white to cream-coloured flowers from spring to summer.
Aroma
Both warming and refreshing, the fragrance clears the air, makes it easier to breathe deeply and has an expectorant effect. The slightly sweet camphor note has an internal cleansing effect and ensures a clear head.
