This essential oil is obtained from blue tansy flowers cultivated organically in their native region of northern Morocco. The coastal breeze, sun and sea air offer the plant the ideal conditions to develop its fine aromas. Our farmers carefully harvest the blue tansy flowers in early summer, just as they are coming into bloom; the plants are then sorted and steam distilled in the local distillery to produce this special, deep blue oil. The essential oil contains high concentrations of sabinene, camphor and alpha-phellandrene.

Farm
We source this essential oil from a renowned and certified producer located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. The company was founded in the early 20th century and today partners with several essential oil crop farms worldwide, ranging from small farms to much larger producers. The plants' origins and qualities are well monitored, and production on these farms is passionate and adheres to strict quality standards. After harvesting, the plants are either cold pressed or gently steam distilled in a stainless steel tank to release their essential oils. Their first certified organic products date back to 2001.
Blue Tansy
A member of the daisy family (Asteraceae), the blue tansy is one of 160 species of Tanacetum. This species, indigenous to southern Europe and North Africa, can now be found in temperate climates all around the world. While Tanacetum annuum has been cultivated since the late 16th century and has long been revered for its healing properties, today it is predominantly cultivated in Spain and Morocco. The annual can reach heights of 60 to 130cm. The naturally preserved active ingredient, chamazulene, is responsible for the essential oil's deep blue colour.
Aroma
The herbaceous, warm and slightly sweet scent calms body and mind. A balm for the soul that promotes a sense of inner peace and centres the thoughts.
