How are we different?

The wealth of knowledge passed down through Chinese tradition for over 2000 years regarding the benefits and cultivation of vital mushrooms is truly exceptional. Today, Chinese cultivators produce the most potent mushrooms, having refined their cultivation methods to the point where the cultivated mushrooms rival their wild counterparts. Our mushrooms are sourced from Gutian County in Fujian, world-renowned for its medicinal mushrooms. Our partner farm prioritizes natural and traditional cultivation techniques. The mushrooms are carefully hand-harvested between July and October when they reach their peak nutrient density.

Mushrooms consist of and the mostly underground mycelium and the above-ground fruiting body, where the vital nutrients are primarily concentrated. While products derived from the underground mycelium are cheaper due to their quicker and easier cultivation, they lack the valuable components. That's why we obtain our mushroom powders and extracts from the entire fruiting body, including the stems, capturing the full spectrum of essential nutrients.

Among these nutrients, the mushroom polysaccharides, especially the beta-1,3- and beta-1,6-D-glucans, are particularly beneficial. Our mushroom extracts are carefully crafted to concentrate these substances; the gentle extraction process strictly follows traditional methods, using water only, ensuring a highly pure product. As a result, our extracts are free from any toxic residues left behind by chemical solvents like acetone, N-hexane, or methanol.

In contrast to extracts that selectively isolate specific ingredients, mushroom powders encompass the entire range of natural compounds .Our mushroom powders are ground to a fineness of 0.1 mm using the special "shell-broken" process - this ensures that the hard-to-digest mushroom matrix is broken down as much as possible for optimal bioavailability.

The mu-err mushroom may be familiar to connoisseurs of Chinese cooking, as this "Chinese morel" is used in many Chinese dishes. This mushroom is highly regarded for its texture, and there is evidence that variants of this mushroom have been used in herbal medicine in China for over 2000 years and in Europe since medieval times.

Auricularia polytricha can be found all over the world on deciduous trees, especially elder trees. The name translated from Latin, is also known as "Judas' ear"; a name that stems from the myth that this mushroom was growing on the side of the tree from which Judas hanged himself.

Cultivation & Processing

Our vital mushrooms are sourced from the esteemed region of Gutian County, Fujian, known for its exceptional quality in vital mushroom cultivation. With an elevation of 600-700 meters above sea level, this area has a long-standing tradition of cultivating vital mushrooms, resulting in unparalleled quality. The combination of special soils, cleverly devised substrates, and the pristine natural environment, nestled within densely forested mountains, ensures a concentrated presence of valuable mushroom ingredients. Our mushrooms thrive naturally in this untouched setting and are meticulously hand-harvested at their peak between the months of July and October.

To preserve the full raw food quality of the mushrooms, we employ a gentle drying process below 40°C. This method retains the integrity of the valuable and delicate mushroom nutrients. To enhance their bioavailability, the dried mushrooms are finely ground using the "shellbroken" grinding technique, enabling us to achieve a remarkably fine size of 0.125mm per grain, extracting the nutritional value from both the cells and the chitinous skeleton of the mushrooms. This meticulous approach ensures the highest possible bioavailability of the valuable compounds. We always process the entire fruiting body of the mushrooms, ensuring that our blend harnessed the full spectrum of valuable natural mushroom substances.

To further concentrate the beneficial beta-glucans present in the mushrooms, we transform the gently dried and finely ground fruiting bodies and stems into an extract. Following traditional methods, we employ water as the sole extraction medium. Water extracts have been an integral part of Chinese tradition and Western herbalism for centuries, serving as a preferred technique for producing plant extracts. This gentle extraction method results in a highly pure extract, completely free from any toxic residues of chemical solvents such as acetone, N-hexane, or methanol.

Serving Suggestion


Take 2 capsules twice daily (per capsule 250mg Auricularia powder + 250mg Auricularia extract) with 200ml of water with meals.
