Thymus mastichina, also known as wild or Spanish marjoram, originates from Portugal and Spain. This herb belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and grows in the shape of a semi-shrub with fuzzy, upward-growing shoots. In the summer the plant blooms white flowers and greenish-white leaves. This variety of thyme is also used in cooking.
