How are we different?

Our fucoidan extract is derived from brown algae of the Fucus and Undaria genera. Both are wildcrafted in the world's leading waters for high-quality brown algae. While Undaria is collected in Tasmania and Patagonia between October and December, the Fucus algae comes from Nova Scotia, Canada and is harvested between March and May. Undari grows mostly underwater and is harvested by divers. Fucus grows mainly on rocks near the coast and is harvested there by hand by experienced harvesters. Our partner farmers take special care to harvest the seaweed gently and sustainably; the algae's natural growth is not restricted from over-harvesting. The algae grow completely naturally and no plant protection products are used.

After the brown algae have been harvested, they are gently processed by our manufacturer using specially developed procedures. First, the brown algae are dried at temperatures below 40°C, then further processed via spray drying at 100-150°C. In the last step, the naturally contained fucoidan is extracted without enzymes; the extraction retains the fucoidan without the need for further extraction aids. The result is a pure fucoidan extract with a standardised content of 85% fucoidan and 5% polyphenols.

Our particularly pure Fucoidan extract is complemented with the addition of original Hawaiian spirulina (Spirulina platensis pacifica) grown in free-range tanks. We are the only supplier on the market that processes spirulina without additives.

The tropical climate of Hawaii, with its near constant sunlight, guarantees high-quality spirulina all year round. Our spirulina remains raw due to the gentle Ocean-Chill spray drying conducted at a low temperature. A sophisticated, biologically balanced and constantly controlled equilibrium in the cultivation tanks prevents the growth of foreign algae. After drying, the spirulina is immediately packed in airtight amber glass bottles. We do not preserve our spirulina with irradiation, as is quite common with other manufacturers.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Effects

Fucoidan

Fucoidan is a sulphated polysaccharide found only in brown algae and various marine organisms (such as sea snails or sea urchins). One of the sugars it contains is fucose. Its namesake, fucose plays an important role for the algae in cell-to-cell communication. Fucoidan is a long chain compound consisting of fucose and sulphate as well as other sugar components, including galactose, xylose and mannose.

The fucoidan contained in brown algae is mainly found in the cell wall and mucus layer of the algae, protecting them from pathogens such as parasites.

Spirulina platensis from Mount Da-Wu

This Spirulina platensis species is the only one in the world that is grown exclusively in the clean, fresh, mineral-rich mountain spring water of Da Wu Mountain, without the use of plant protection products, chemical fertilisers or genetically modified organisms. The tropical climate and fresh air provide optimal growing conditions all year round, and the fresh spring water provides a rich supply of minerals and trace elements which accumulate organically in the algae, eliminating the need for the often common addition of artificial fertilisers or synthetic minerals.

Recommended Dosage

Take 1 capsule (100mg fucoidan + 200mg spirulina) daily before a meal with 200ml water.
