Awards

Flos Olei

There are a number of important national and international olive oil competitions around the world, whether in New York, Tokyo or in countries of origin such as Spain and Italy. However, among all these competitions, the Italian guide Flos Olei stands out in particular. It can be considered the best reference for evaluating the world's best oils. Every year, the 500 best oils worldwide are individually rated with scores. Within 20 clearly defined categories, various category prizes are also awarded, either for oils, characteristics or for the work and methods of the farms. The editorial team consists of certified and experienced Italian olive oil tasters and their international network.

Since 2015, Frantoio Franci's Toscano has been one of the consistently highest-rated olive oils in Flos Olei, initially with 98 points and in subsequent years with 99 points. In 2024, the olive oil was awarded 100 points by Flos Olei.

Cultivation & Processing

Deep in the heart of Tuscany, the Val D'Orcia is tucked away in the region of Siena. The picturesque landscape with flat plains and captivating rolling hills has inspired artists since at least the Renaissance to create beautiful paintings. The Val D'Orcia became a UNESCO World Culture Heritage Site since 2004.

The Villa Magra has been home to the olive farm of the Franti family since 1958. The farm is located on the slopes of the Amiata Mountains above the Val D'Orcia and encompasses over 65ha with approximately 15,000 olive trees. As a family-operated farm, Frantoio Franci made a commitment to producing the best extra virgin olive oils that have won the Leone d'Oro Award on 3 separate occasions since 1999.
