Finest Origin - Highest Grade

These wild manuka plants can be found growing close to the sea in the rugged Waikato region of northern New Zealand. This region has an ideal oceanic climate with seasonal temperature fluctuations and high rainfall, which provide the perfect growing conditions for manuka. As a result of the tropical climate, the plant develops a unique profile of natural compounds and powerful aromas, such as monoterpenes (e.g. cis-calamenes) and sesquiterpenes. The family business is passionate about preserving the environment and the indigenous plants that grow there. To that end, the branches of the wild-growing manuka bushes are carefully harvested by hand between September and May and brought to the distillery. The oil is extracted by a gentle steam distillation on the farm immediately after harvesting in compliance with the highest quality standards.

Farm

The producer of our manuka essential oil is a small, family-owned business based in New Zealand that owns large areas in which the manuka and kanuka trees grow wild. The fresh leaves and branches are harvested gently by hand, following sustainable methods, then separated and processed via steam distillation. The products are certified with the New Zealand BioGro organic seal.

Manuka

Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium) belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and grows endemically in south-eastern Australia and New Zealand. The evergreen shrubby or arboreal plant normally grows 2 – 5 metres tall, but can grow into small trees with a height of 15 metres. The fragrant flowers consist of 5 round delicate white, pink or reddish petals. The aromatic ovate or lanceolate leaves are 4 – 12mm long.

Character

The deeply sweet, honey-like Manuka fragrance has a stabilising and balancing effect on the mind and is therefore particularly beneficial in times of stress and burnout. A strengthening balm for body, mind and soul.
