Each year, it evaluates and scores the top 500 olive oils globally. Furthermore, within 20 clearly defined categories, various awards are presented for specific oils, their characteristics, or the dedication and methodologies of the producing estates. The editorial team comprises certified and experienced Italian olive oil tasters, supported by their international network.

Olive Farm

Arcamone is one of the ‘historic’ estates of the De Carlo family, who have been practising organic farming since 1900. The Coratina variety - the mother of all local oils - has found an ideal microclimate in this place, which naturally supports the production cycle and allows cultivation without the use of chemicals. This oil expresses the special characteristics of its area and concentrates them in a blend of aromas and flavours. Its limited production, awards and prizes make it an extremely prestigious product.

Cultivation & Processing

The olives for this "Tenuta Arcamone" come from the Apulia region on the heel of the Italian boot. There, the olives are grown south-east of Bari (protected origin DOP "Terra di Bari") at an altitude of around 150–220m, sustainably and without plant protection products. Combining traditional harvesting methods with modern technology, the olives are harvested both by hand and mechanically in order to adapt to the requirements and age of the trees. The freshly harvested olives are transported within a few hours for processing in the company's own oil mill to optimise quality. Traditional stone mills are also combined with state-of-the-art technology for further processing. Thanks to modern software, it is possible to trace the olives from the bottle to the tree.

In addition to the excellent olive oil, the De Carlo's also produce wonderful antipasti.
