How are we different?
While the majority of beta-carotene today is obtained synthetically or through mould fermentation, our beta-carotene is supplied via naturally grown algae: a 100% pure and natural extract of the saltwater algae Dunaliella salina, the most natural source of high-dose beta-carotene available.
Dunaliella algae contains many other valuable carotenoids in addition to beta-carotene, which creates a natural and synergistic phytochemical complex. Clinical studies have shown that the beta-carotene and other carotenoids sourced from Dunaliella salina exhibit higher bioactivity than synthetic or pure beta-carotene, both of which do not contain these other carotenoids.
We use pure sunflower oil and MCT oil derived from coconut cultivated without the use of plant protection products as carrier oils. The only other ingredient is natural mixed tocopherols, an additive which we've included to increase the product's shelf life. By comparison, many products on the market contain soya oil (often genetically modified soya) as well as synthetic tocopherols.
Our airtight and leak-proof GreenCaps help protect the selected oil-based raw materials from oxidation. The capsule shells are filled using nitrogen gas and then hermetically sealed, ensuring optimal freshness and extending the product's shelf life. Unlike most other HPMC capsules on the market, our GreenCaps are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans, PEG and gelatine. They are vegan, gluten-free and allergen-free. Once the capsules are ready, we package them in environmentally friendly amber glass jars.
