The vetiver grass used for this essential oil is grown according to organic standards by experienced farmers on the coast of Madagascar. This tropical, oceanic region offers an ideal climate for the growth of the plants, allowing for the rich formation of special ingredients and aromas, such as khusimol and alpha-vetivone. The roots are gently harvested then processed into aromatic essential oil in a local distillery via steam distillation.

The manufacturer of this essential oil is a family-run company based in France, which was founded around 1990. It specialises in the certified organic cultivation of indigenous aromatic plants, and has global cooperatives. The aromas of the plants, obtained either via steam distillation or cold pressing, is highly regarded in the perfume industry. The many years of experience in organic cultivation as well as a passion for production are reflected in the harmoniously balanced essential oils. Their products are certified with the EU organic seal.

Vetiver belongs to the Poaceae family, and is similar in size and appearance to lemongrass and palmarosa. It can grow up to 2m tall and has strong leaves. The roots grow up to 3m deep, stabilising the soil. The plant grows mainly in India, Asia and South America but is also successfully cultivated in Madagascar.

The intense, earthy aroma anchors in the here and now, strengthens self-confidence and provides a strong sense of purpose.
