Olive Farm

The traditional family-operated business Tenute Librandi was founded in 1967 by Pasquale Librandi on the grounds of a century-old oil mill that had been operated by his grandparents. Today, the farm is being carried on by Pasquale's 5 children. Under their leadership that has always prioritised quality as well as innovation, Tenute Librandi has established itself as one of the most acclaimed olive farms in Italy and has received at least 98 points from the Flos Olei guide every year since 2015. In 2021, the farm was also awarded "The Farm of the Year" by Flos Olei. The farm cooperates with important research centers for agriculture including the University of Florence and the Research Centre for Olive Growing and Olive Product Industry in Cosenza.

Cultivation & Processing

The picturesque olive farm is located at the "boot tip" of Italy at the edge of the small village of Vaccarizzo Albanese in the province of Cosenza in Calabria. The olive groves are tucked in among rolling hills at 400m above sea level and only a few kilometres removed from the Ionian Sea. Optimal conditions for the growth of thriving olive trees characterise the climate and geography.

Tenute Librandi has pursued certified organic cultivation since 1997 and has accrued expertise in cultivating the local varieties Carolea, Dradista, Noceralla del Bellice as well as the Italian specialty Frantoio.

Cultivation and processing take place according to the highest technical and quality standards. The olives are milled within 8 hours of harvest on the farm's own machines. A 3-phase cold extraction method in a decanter centrifuge enables a gentle means of processing that retains the highest possible concentration of phenols and aroma.
