origin

Finest Origin - Highest Grade

These tea trees (Melaleuca alternifolia) grow sustainably in the coastal Northern Rivers region of Australia. Here, in their endemic habitat, they enjoy the ideal stimulating climate for the optimal growth. Their aromas and ingredients, such as terpinene-4-ol and gamma-terpinene, are developed in a harmonious ratio. Following the sustainable hand harvesting of the twigs and leaves, the tea is steam distilled directly on the farm during the winter months.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s he has been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, he has been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both his own production and from that of his collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of his essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Tea Tree

The tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and grows endemically in Australia, mostly on the northeast coast of Queensland and New South Wales. The tea tree is an evergreen shrub or small tree with a growth height of up to 7m. The leaves are narrow, lanceolate and alternate. In spring, it bears yellowish white inflorescences. Traditionally, the tea tree has been used by the Australian Aboriginal peoples in a variety of manners; for example, the paper-like bark served as building material for shelters or as material for the preparation of fish or meat.
