The Mediterranean climate of the region, with its strong sunshine and mild winters, along with the characteristic limestone and terra rossa soils, allows the sage to optimally develop its natural aromas. These intense aromas, including alpha-pinene, camphene and 1,8-cineole, are found in a harmonious ratio in the resulting essential oil. The fresh herb is carefully wildcrafted then gently steam distilled directly in the family-run distillery.

This essential oil is produced by a small business based in Bosnia and Herzegovina with extensive expertise in producing essential oils from wild-growing indigenous plants – the producers have even developed a unique method of collecting seeds without disturbing the plants' natural processes. The seeds are first wildcrafted in Herzegovina and then, in harmony with nature, grown into saplings and replanted in their original natural habitat. These wild-growing plants are then used to produce high-quality, pure essential oils.
Sage
Sage (Salvia officinalis), also called Dalmatian sage, garden sage or common sage, is a widespread herb native to the Mediterranean region. It belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae). Sage is a perennial plant with a woody stem, silvery grey to green velvety leaves and blueish violet inflorescences. The small shrub grows wild in the coastal regions of the Adriatic on dry, rocky, rough soils. It flowers in May and June, transforming rugged, barren landscapes into beautiful, violet-scented fields.
Aroma
