Awards

Flos Olei
There are a number of important national and international olive oil competitions around the world, whether in New York, Tokyo or in the countries of origin such as Spain and Italy. However, among all the competitions, the Italian guide Flos Olei stands out. It can be considered the best reference in judging the world's best oils. Every year, the 500 best oils in the world are individually evaluated here with scores. Within 20 clearly defined categories, various category prizes are also awarded, either for oils, characteristics or also for the work and methods of the farms. The editorial team consists of certified and experienced Italian olive oil tasters, as well as their international network. In addition, the Flos Olei awarded the extraction system of Fattoria Ramerino as currently the best in the world. They have been regularly listed among the top 20 olive oil producers in the world since 2016.

Olive Farm

The Fattoria Ramerio is still a fairly young company on old terrain, but the outstanding quality of its olive oils has already allowed it to join the ranks of the best olive farms in Italy. In addition to the 99 points of Flos Olei, they were awarded, among others, in 2020 with the "Best in Class Award" in New York and the "Marco Mugelli Award" in Los Angeles. The ecological cultivation and the partly centuries-old olive trees are the basis for the outstanding quality and the incomparable taste of the Fattoria Ramerino olive oils.

Region and Processing

In the mountains south of Florence, in the heart of Tuscany, lies the olive farm Fattoria Ramerino. The area between Chianti and Valdorno is famous for wines and olives and has been intensively used for agriculture for centuries. To this day, outstanding wines and olive oils are produced here. The farm, managed by Filippo Alampi, is located in a valley basin at 250m below sea level, with optimal sun exposure and correspondingly ideal growing conditions.
On the farm's 50 hectares of land, about 5,500 olive trees, some of them centuries old, of the Tuscan varieties Moraiolo, Frantoio, Leccino and Americano are cultivated with respect for tradition.

The olive farm operates exclusively organic farming. All fertilizers are completely organic, grasses are mowed only occasionally in times of drought, and trees are kept healthy only by pruning and by other natural means.
