Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The lemon myrtle used to produce this essential oil has been grown in its indigenous terroir of New South Wales, Australia along the northeastern coastline for over 30 years. Cultivated naturally in the region's humid, subtropical climate, the lemon myrtle is given ideal conditions in which to develop its unique aroma, characterised by a distinctive lemony fragrance due to a high concentration of naturally occurring citral. The leaves and twigs are harvested throughout the year as required in order to ensure freshness during the gentle steam distillation process, which is conducted directly on site at the family farm.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s he has been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, he has been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both his own production and from that of his collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of his essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Lemon Myrtle

The Australian lemon myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) is native to the coastal rainforests of New South Wales and Queensland. A member of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae), the elusive lemon myrtle is rarely found in nature, but under the right conditions, this slow-growing evergreen can reach heights of up to 20 metres. The lemon myrtle's glossy green leaves are studded with oil glands, which produce a strong citrusy aroma when rubbed between the fingers. Lemon myrtle has the highest known content of citral, the main component of lemony scents. During summer and autumn, cream-coloured blooms appear at the branch ends, which develop into dry, seed-filled capsules. Hailed as the queen of lemon herbs, lemon myrtle has become a popular ingredient in the food and cosmetic industries due to its intensely lemony aroma.

Aroma

The aromatic citrus scent is soothing and aids in releasing anxiety while providing clarity. As doubts dissipate, fresh perspectives arise.
