Vitamin B2 in the form of bioactive riboflavin 5'-sodium phosphate, the directly effective coenzyme form also known as flavin mononucleotide (FMN), vitamin B3 in the most common form of niacin (nicotinic acid), the starting point of vitamin B3 metabolism, and vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) in the form of stable D-calcium pantothenate.
The most renowned Chinese mushrooms from Gutian County, Fujian (600–700m above sea level), where the cultivation of mushrooms is an ancient tradition: cordyceps, Pleurotus, reishi, shiitake, Agaricus blazei and Hericium erinaceus. The special soils, sophisticated substrates and climatic conditions in the untouched nature of this region, protected by densely forested mountains, produce mushrooms of incredible quality, ensuring a high concentration of the valuable compounds they offer. Our natural mushrooms thrive on a partner farm in the region with EU organic certification, where they are harvested by hand between July and October when they reach peak nutrient levels.
Due to the particularly gentle drying process at temperatures below 40°C, the mushrooms remain raw and retain their valuable, sensitive compounds. To increase their bioavailability, the dried mushrooms are gently and very finely ground ("shell-broken"), achieving a fineness of 0.125mm. This completely extracts the ingredients from the cells despite the mushrooms' chitinous cell walls to ensure the highest possible bioavailability. The entire fruiting body of the mushroom is processed in order to fully preserve the entire wealth of natural mushroom compounds.
In order to further concentrate the beta-glucans contained in the mushrooms, the gently dried and finely ground fruiting bodies and stems of the mushrooms are processed into an extract. The extraction is carried out according to traditional methods using only water; water extracts have been part of Chinese tradition and Western herbalism for centuries. They are among the gentlest extraction methods and result in a highly pure extract, free from any toxic chemical solvent residues (such as of acetone, N-hexane and methanol).
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
