origin

Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The silver fir essential oil comes from the freshly harvested branches and needles, which are collected in the unspoilt forests of the Bosnia and Herzegovina region. Here, the native silver fir unfolds its valuable ingredients in a balanced ratio. Fresh air, strong temperature fluctuations between hot and cold and the soil conditions are ideal for its growth. The branches and needles are harvested from wild trees in the winter months and distilled with steam in the local distillery. The aromatic essential oil contains, among other things, limonene, alpha-pinene and beta-pinene.

farm

Farm

We source this essential oil from a renowned and certified producer located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. The company was founded in the early 20th century and has cooperation partners worldwide, small to large farms, where the plants' origin and quality are well monitored. The essential oils are extracted on site either by gentle steam distillation in a stainless steel tank or by cold pressing. The first certified organic products date back to 2001.

plant

WHITE FIR

The silver fir (Abies alba) is native to western, southern and central Europe. The evergreen tree from the fir genus (Abies) belongs to the pine family (Pinaceae). The tree reaches a height of up to 50 metres, grows at elevations of up to 2,000 metres and can reach an age of 500 to 600 years. The suffix "alba" refers to the tree's grey-white bark. The silver fir has been used as a medicinal and healing plant since ancient times and in the Middle Ages it was regarded as a symbol of strength due to its majestic growth. The needles, shoots, cones, seeds and resin were the main elements utilised. An infusion of the fresh shoots, for example, helped against spring tiredness and bronchitis.
