Complete Test

Medivere

SKU
3376
Drinking water analysis set, complete with tests for 6 bacteria including Legionella, according to drinking water regulations; heavy and light metals; nitrite, nitrate, phosphorus and sulfate; and water hardness. The costs of shipping to the laboratory (from within DE and AT) and testing are included in the price.

Parameters

Tests for the presence of E. coli, coliform bacteria, enterococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella, Clostridium perfringens, and colony count (at 22°C and 36°C). Also tests for the presence of heavy and light metals aluminium, antimony, lead, calcium, cadmium, chromium, iron, potassium, copper, magnesium, manganese, sodium, nickel and zinc; and nitrite, nitrate, phosphorus and sulfate. The hardness of the water is also evaluated.

How our drinking water analysis works:

You will receive the complete test kit with detailed instructions and sample tubes. Send the water sample in the enclosed envelope to our partner laboratory GANZIMMUN DIAGNOSTICS AG in Germany (free shipping from DE and AT) and receive the test result after approx. 14 days by mail (also downloadable). The results show at a glance if and how much the water is polluted. The costs of shipping to the laboratory (from within DE and AT) and testing are included in the price. There are no further costs. All tests are discreetly packaged.

Technical note: For samples sent from non-EU countries (e.g. Switzerland) to our partner laboratory, we can unfortunately not provide any guarantee that they will be analysed. Due to lengthy postal routes and customs processing times, it may be the case that the sample is too old to be evaluated by the time it arrives at the laboratory. We thank you for your understanding.

Legal notice: All samples are taken by the customer. This drinking water analysis is an orienting examination, and the samples are not analysed according to current drinking water regulations. The analysis is not officially or legally recognised.

Note: This test is intended for the analysis of drinking water. It cannot be used to evaluate heavily contaminated and/or muddy/murky water, e.g. from ponds.

Note: Only credit card and invoicing are available as payment methods for this product. The accompanying manual is in German.

  • Analysis of six contamination germs including legionella in accordance with the Drinking Water Ordinance
  • Heavy and light metals, the parameters nitrite, nitrate, phosphorus and sulphate as well as water hardness
  • To avoid potential health concerns, the concentration of harmful substances should be monitored regularly
  • Shipping to the laboratory (in enclosed shipping bag and return envelope) is free from an order within Germany
  • Designed exclusively for the analysis of drinking water
  • The evaluation of heavily contaminated water (cloudy, discoloured, undissolved particles), for example from ponds, is not possible.

The Test

This drinking water analysis tests for the presence of E. coli, coliform bacteria, enterococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella, Clostridium perfringens and colony count (at 22°C and 36°C). Also tests water hardness as well as heavy and light metals: aluminum, lead, calcium, cadmium, chromium, iron, potassium, copper, magnesium, manganese, sodium, nickel, antimony, zinc, nitrite, nitrate, phosphorus and sulphate.

The Drinking Water Ordinance ("TrinkwV 2001") sets maximum limits and quality standards for substances that are hazardous to health. These regulations protect the consumer and oblige water suppliers to regularly check water quality. However, this warranty obligation only extends as far as household water; private drinking water systems are not covered by this ordinance.

Since water contamination often only occurs after the water has passed into the house, it is important for homeowners to check the quality of their drinking water. In buildings, the water may stand still in the pipes for several hours or even days. Depending on the material of the pipe, this can lead to chemical reactions resulting in the release of metal ions into the drinking water. Pipes in older buildings may contain copper or lead and nickel can be present in taps.

Some metals such as sodium, calcium, potassium or magnesium are essential for our health but are harmful in high concentrations. Other metals are toxic even in low concentrations or can accumulate in the body. Lead toxicity can lead to neurological disorders or anemia. High levels of copper are associated with liver damage and migraines. Zinc and copper adversely affect nutrient metabolism and lead to weakened immune function as well as reducing the serum levels of some lipoproteins. Nickel contamination in drinking water can trigger allergies. In general, heavy metals can cause growth and developmental disorders, cancer, damage to organs or the nervous system and lead to autoimmune diseases.

Drinking water from well systems can contain various metals and compounds such as sulphate, nitrite, nitrate or phosphate (phosphorus) and pose health risks. Growing urbanisation, industrialisation, agriculture and wastewater are significant sources of pollution. Natural geological processes can also pollute groundwater.

Water hardness is defined by the content of calcium and magnesium compounds and can vary greatly from region to region. Soft water is suitable for washing and all applications in which it is heated; it is less suitable for removing soap and causes detergents to foam more. Hard water promotes limescale build-up in household appliances and increases the amount of detergent needed. It can affect the appearance and taste of food.

Water hardness is measured with the unit °dH ("German hardness"):
- soft: <8.4 °dH
- medium: 8.4 - 14.0 °dH
- hard: >14.0 °dH

How to Use

ORDER PROCESS

You will receive the complete test kit with detailed instructions and sample tubes. Please send the samples in the enclosed envelope to our partner laboratory GANZIMMUN DIAGNOSTICS AG in Germany (free shipping in Germany and Austria) and receive the test result by post after approximately 14 days; the test result can also be downloaded. The result shows you at a glance whether and to what extent your water is contaminated. The purchase price of the test kit already includes the analysis by the laboratory. There are no additional costs. Delivery is discreet and all diagnostic tests are shipped in neutral packaging.

Technical notice: Unfortunately, we cannot provide a guarantee for tests sent to our partner laboratory from non-EU countries. Due to the longer time spent in shipping, the sample may no longer be analysable. We appreciate your understanding.

Legal notice: All samples are taken by the customer (client). This drinking water analysis is an indicative analysis which is not carried out on the basis of the current Drinking Water Ordinance. An official or judicial recognition of the test results is excluded.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to analyse contaminated water that is cloudy or discoloured and contains undissolved particles (e.g., from well or pond water). In order to provide you with accurate and reliable results, we require water samples in a condition that meets the requirements for drinking water (tap water). In the case that you send contaminated water to the laboratory, we reserve the right not to carry out the analysis and unfortunately will not reimburse the costs.
