Finest Origin - Highest Grade

This anise myrtle (Syzygium anisatum), is sustainably cultivated in its native habitat in the subtropical northern region of the Australian state of New South Wales. The cultivation process avoids the use of pesticides, relying solely on organic fertilisers, and the plant material generated during the distillation process is recycled as fertiliser. The sub-tropical climate in the picturesque Byron Bay outback provides the ideal conditions for the development of the plant's natural aromas. It contains around 90% of the high trans-anethole content, which contributes to its distinct anise aroma. Additional natural compounds include estragole and alpha- and beta-phellandrene. Fresh leaves and young branches are distilled on-site immediately after harvesting to produce this highly aromatic essential oil.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s he has been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, he has been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both his own production and from that of his collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of his essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Anise Myrtle

The anise myrtle (Syzygium anisatum) is a rare, wild rainforest tree belonging to the Myrtle family (Myrtaceae). It thrives exclusively in the Nambucca and Bellinger Valleys in the subtropical region of New South Wales, Australia. Under favourable conditions, the tree can grow up to 45 metres tall and bears 6 – 12cm long leaves with a strong anise fragrance. White, sweet-scented flowers emerge during the summer months. Traditionally, the aromatic leaves were used as a revitalising tonic. Today, dried and ground leaves are used to flavour both sweet and savory dishes, as well as teas. Due to similarities in their natural compounds, the essential oils of anise myrtle, star anise, or anise oil can be interchanged for various applications.

Aroma

The fresh aroma is considered to be invigorating, grounding and calming. It promotes strength and energy, overcoming internal obstacles and self-assurance.
