Finest Origin - Highest Grade

These patchouli plants (Pogostemon cablin) grow wild in the Nawalparashi region of Nepal. Here, the tropical, humid climate in the lowlands allows the plants to develop their balanced aromas, which come from naturally forming compounds such as patchouli, α-bulnese and α-guaien. The leaves are carefully harvested by hand throughout the year, then gently dried over the course of several months before being processed into the essential oil onsite via a steam distillation.

Farm

This family-run company was founded around 2010 in Nepal. The cooperating farms and farmers are regularly trained in controlled organic cultivation and new farms are recruited. The range of essential oils consists either of plants that are cultivated organically or from wild collections in the mountains of Nepal. The joy and passion of growing and harvesting indigenous aromatic plants and processing them in their own distilleries across the country can be perceived in the fine aromas of these oils. Most products are certified with the EU organic seal.

Patchouli

The patchouli plant (Pogostemon cablin) belongs to the Lamiaceae family and grows mainly in tropical regions of Asia, from India, through Nepal, to Malaysia. These perennial herbaceous plants reach a growth height of up to 100cm, and their stems and dark green leaves, which can be up to 10cm long, are covered in short, fuzzy hairs. The plant's violet-coloured flowers are spire-shaped. The essential oil is prized in the perfume industry and is one of the few essential oils that, like a good wine, improves over the years. The dried leaves are also widely used in Ayurvedic herbal medicine.

Aroma

The intense earthy and sweet notes have a stimulating effect on the mind, and the fragrance is simultaneously grounding, balancing and harmonising. This aroma is ideal for use during yoga practice.
